Hood clearance

No but if my memory is correct, the G body mounts almost clip together like a clamshell and obviously lower profile. A flatter steel top that clips into a rubber and steel bottom. The regular A and B body SBO mount is a one piece with a thick rubber cushion between the two metal pieces. I know in earlier cars to get the right height, BBO mounts must match the frame mounts, same for the SBO. I threw out my G body mounts because I thought they were broken and a poorer design, no I know why, for hood clearance.

Mine is 400 E block. I used stock 307 frame mounts and engine mounts, with the performer intake Q jet carb a 1" drop wasn't enough. So I milled the carb flange down .625 re drilled and tapped the holes and bought a 2 3/8 tall air filter with this lid. Hood shuts now haha

My old 81 park avenue had the same mounts as my 81 cutlass

My 81 Delta 88 had the regular early A and later B body taller mounts.

The extra inch plus the taller than stock Performer, no doubt caused the interference. That is a rare block to use in a regular G body.

You are correct on the rare block, I was looking for 330 or 350 instead. I found this engine for a deal I couldn't pass up. Its rebuilt to stock W30 specs has the correct big valve C heads, the block it self is from early 1967. I was wondering who would pick up on the E block.

Did the body mounts two winters ago, they are good now.

FYI....You may already know this but if you used the Energy Suspension body mounts, the radiator support mounts are likely 1" too short. It's been documented many times on other forums and I experienced the same thing. I added spacers on mine to increase hood clearance and to line everything up properly. Hopefully this helps.

That looks like a 2" filter. Cool to have an actual W30 power plant.

2 3/8 to be exact with an inch drop base. I think I'm going to pull the intake and bead blast it and paint it matching gold.

I have a 403 on stock 307 mounts (just reused what the car already had with new rubber parts for the 307) with a performer rpm intake, an edelbrock carb and some cheap parts store 14" air cleaner (3" filter I think) and it clears fine. I also do not have the underhood pad, mine fell apart.
