Hood clearance

FYI....You may already know this but if you used the Energy Suspension body mounts, the radiator support mounts are likely 1" too short. It's been documented many times on other forums and I experienced the same thing. I added spacers on mine to increase hood clearance and to line everything up properly. Hopefully this helps.

Interesting, Yes I did use the Energy suspension body mounts, but in my searches, I didn't see anything about them being too short. I'll have to take a close look at my body seams to see what they look like. Is 1" all that they need?

Thanks for the info!

i have a 403 in my olds with the performer intake and holly carb. but i would have to use a thinner air cleaner/breather. didnt like the look so i got a 4 inch cowl so i can run any air cleaner i want.

2 3/8 to be exact with an inch drop base. I think I'm going to pull the intake and bead blast it and paint it matching gold.
Going for the stock look? I am returning my block from Bronze ironically to Gold. That with the #6:heads will make my 76 block look original in my 70 S. I actually like the 400 Bronze the best.

Yes sir, I want to keep the car looking stockish. Only flashy parts on it are the wheels. When I put that intake on I wasn't sure about it but I know now it has to get painted..
