I assume this will be like Lowe's buying Craftsman and slapping that name on their Kobalt junk.

Lowes doesn't own Craftsman to the best of my knowledge. Black and Decker owns the Craftsman line and Lowes is a dealer.

A bit of info about Craftsman stuff being made in the USA, hopefully a lot more to follow. A good majority of my hand tools are Craftsman dating back to the 80's when I was amassing a tool set, so I'm a Craftsman guy but have some SK and Snap-On as well.

In my experience they have only mildly fugged up their acquisition of CarQuest so I'd expect it to go okay. I haven't been following Sears lately, what's old Eddie Lampert up to these days?

Closing more stores, rolling naked in the millions he "earned" from running Sears & K Mart into their graves. Just found out that he bought the Sears Hometown Store franchise sometime last year too. Guess he's working to erase any form of Sears from the retail landscape.
