Just curious to know how many here are the original owners of thier G bodies?

I can still remember walking into the dealer ship in 1979 and looking through the Malibu sales brochure and picking out the options,
F41 sport suspension
High output 305
Landau coupe
Black vinyl top
Black upper body colour
Black lower body colour
Red pinstripe
Dark Claret cloth interio
colour keyed seat belts
colour keyed floor mats
bucketseats with floor console and shifter
rubber bumper strips
bumper guards
Steel ralley wheels
raised white Letter tires {Uniroyal}
interior illumination package
passenger side trash can
Radio delete(factory radios sucked back then so it got an aftermarket sound system)
Airconditioning/factory tinted glass
Ralley gage cluster with factory tach/clock
cruise control
power trunk release

then the waitting began, daily going over the order from and looking at the brochure till the day the car arrived at the dealer in what's now December. Only to discover that when they built my car they left out the tach and gage cluster, and cruise control! after a long heated conversation the dealer knocks down the price by nearly $800, and has cruise installed on the car, I can still remember the smell and the feeling the first time I drove this black beauty
over the 31 years since that frist drive in my new malibu, I've even sold it then came to my senses and bought it back, I still love my first malibu

She's out in the garage stillhas her original black laquer paint that still shines.

I'm not -- but close. My grandpa bought it new so it's always been around. I bought it from him in '08 when he quit driving it.

Re: How many of us are the original owners of their G/A bodi

I was born after they stopped making g-bodies; that counts me out. I think my car has an interesting back story though (according to a Hoosier who doesn't get out much). First off, it's a "T-package" with a 307 which you don't see much of at all. My Regal's original owner lived in California and the second owner lived in Wichita, Kansas. He brought it with him all the way to South Bend, Indiana when he went to college. All that time, other than a cheap paint job thrown on who-knows-when to cover up surface rust, the car stayed completely original. Stock exhaust, California emissions system, sound system, you name it. And then some punk high schooler got his hands on it.. (me) It's in relatively good hands though.

Must have been an '86-up thing. I've got a maroon/dk red one from my old '86 lying around somewhere, same design.
