The sender has a ground coming off it already.

So power has to come through to the senders pink wire

Not the gauge itself the pink wire that comes out of the tail light harness

My 87 SS has 12.45 @battery and 8.20 on pink wire at the tank

Well I leave this thread more confused than when I entered.

It is the sender that is the problem. I took an extra sender i had in the garage hooked it up and the gauge works properly.

Now to drop the brand new tank I just put in!!

I think I caused the confusion, it wasn't the first time I created confusion nor will it be the last unless TURNA'S hitman catches up with me.....
