HOW MANY VOLTS???

How many volts go the the fuel tank sender?

My gauge stopped working and I am getting 8.51 volts at the pigtail pink wire coming off the taillight harness.

Should it be a full 12 volts?

none, your fuel gauge is an ohm reader

Not the gauge itself the pink wire that comes out of the tail light harness

the pink wire goes to the gauge, my pink wire had issues so I ran a new wire right to the guage. The original pink wire goes to the harness on the left side of the fuse box. The sender is 0 - 90 ohms 0 is empty

depends on the gauge looks like it might drop the voltage some, I can check on the SS after work tonight

I posted that diagram and it disappeared, maybe I don't have the security clearance you have....

the symbol for a resistor (ohm) is in the fuel senders

one other thing about the pink wire, at the connector at the left rear of the trunk compartment that braided wire is an aluminum wire from the connector in the trunk to the connector at the left of the fuse box. The aluminum wire corrodes and that could be your problem
