how much does it cost to do a basic rebuild?

I think I had 350 Ishmael into mine. New gaskets, rings, bearings, a hone and a ridge reamer is all I needed. Reueds the old heads , should have lapped the valves (burned a little bit) but other than that good to go. Don't let all these "machine shop" guys scare you...people have been doing this for a long time. Unless you have major issues you don't need them. Read a book sometime, I'm sure you'll figure it out, its only nuts and bolts.....
