What is gutted out race car? Are you saying mine is a gutted out race car?

Please tell me what is "gutted race car" about my car.

I've never personally seen your car so I sure can't tell you what is or isn't gutted out about your car.
I can tell you everything I've got done to mine though and that I'm still about 300 pounds heavier than you.
So far, everything you mentioned with the exception of the lightweight seats that you've done to your car, I've got done to mine.
Again, I'm not doubting you.... just wish I could find that extra weight in mine.

Sorry chris that wasnt directed at you. It was more for lsgen1

The fact is that not all gbodies weigh the same. Its a known fact.

The 79 monte is lighter then the 78. Why because it is. A prime example is the license plate pocket. 78 was metal. 79 plastic

Iirc i beleive the order is malibu, monte, cutlass,

I did forget to mention that my car was weighed multiple times at different track. And this is with out driver.

The LeMans and Grand Am were lighter than Monte Carlo and barely heavier than Malibu depending on drivetrains.

Well, I must admit that with all of my temper tantrum and foot stomping (ok not really)...... that the weight I have posted about my car was with driver. I guess when we look at it that way, mine is now at "about" 3050.
I haven't weighed the whole car since hanging all the front end stuff and I weigh about 180-185. Before the upcoming hollidays anyway....LOL

I should have made it clearer. This isnt race weight. Race weight im 3300lbs.

The driver can vary so much. I do plan on losing 50lbs on myself.

you can get the overall weight off the G body but what you can't do is get the weight off the front end. We could never get the weight bias we wanted when we raced G bodies on an oval

What was the best ratio and weights you had.

There are a few things you can do but involves modifiying the stock frame.

I'd have to look in our records to see what weight bias we had. There was no rules to allow any modification of the frame and there was added weight with the hoop and front bumper components. The main problem is the engine sits a few inches too far forward

Ok, after much delay, finally dug up the info - this is from the April 1978 and April 1979 issues of Consumer Reports. I can't say it's 100% accurate, as I've seen the occasional mistake or two now and then. Should be a good guide, though.
