In a 60 mile radius from my house I know where there are 2 nice '83 Hurst's running around in Panama City Beach, FL. I have seen a couple 84's in Pensacola, Florida (That is where I bought my T-Top car). I have seen some fully restored ones at this car lot called BIg Boys Toys. So yes they are rare, but not impossible to find.

reason i ask is because i found a 84 hurts/olds. I am desperately trying to sell my el camino so i can buy it. lol

How much are they asking for the car? Is it all original? Good conditon?

There are less Cutlasses out there than you guys think...
Of the 1,913,963 81-88 2 and 4 door Cutlasses approximately only 9% are still registered on the road today.
A Hurst on the other hand is a little more collectable, especially the 83 Hurst so a higher percentage of those still exist however I would think more 83's would exist than 84's and 442's each year since those cars came with the OVERRATED 8.5" rear end that people foolishly part out for...
I'll check with my source to find out how many Hurst's and 442's (VIN9's) are still registered.

ONCE THEY'RE GONE THEY'RE GONE

I don't in any way see the 8.5" as overrated compared to 7.5"-7.65", but I do agree it's a shame to part a nice car for one.

I know of at lest 6 of them in the madison WI area sitting in garages that havnt been registered in many years. I worked as a concrete finisher there for about 10 years and in these high dollar subdivisions you get to see what the rich people have parked in their huge garages. I have talked to a few of them and they all said they lusted after them when they were younger and after they bought them they realized that they will one day be worth something so they parked it. They live in $500,000- 800,000 houses and have no reason to sell them ever.

Well it depends on how many miles and condition of body. An average mint 442 with lets say around 70k miles would bring in like 9,000. They are a little bit more rare of a gbodies, but still not going to bring in no 30-60k like they might think. gbodies are not that valuable as of yet. There are still tons of 442, hurst olds, Malibu, Montes, El Camino, Cutlass out there. It is not like back in the day were there was only like 1000 produced of this certain model package. The only valuable gbody is the Grand National, GNX, and Buick Regal T-Type. Other then that you can find all other godies for under 5k and in really nice condition.

I have never seen an 83/84 H/O in person except at the Olds shows at Summit. All the car shows I go to yearly only have GN's, Monte SS's or 442's, no H/Os. I even go to a High Performance school and theres none around there let alone Gbodies. I had my SS mistaken for a Firebird before . . . that shows how rare they seem to be around here.
