How to install F body rear sway bar

Does heating the bar to bend it to the desired shape to fit the G body chassis have any adverse effects on how the bar works? I've read several articles over the years that say that heating and bending a sway bar will cause the metal to change, and the bar won't work properly.

bending the arms will not affect the bar, the part of the bar that does the work is not getting heated
