How to tell if my 83 Regal a G-BODY

They were technically A body or A series from 78 to 1982 then gm switched to calling the the G series or as we all say G Body
That’s what I’ve learned over the years and the service manuals sort of back that up but 78-87 were all basic the same sheep in different clothing

Except even GM couldn't make up their minds. Here's a page from the 78-81 Pontiac parts catalog. Throughout they use "A" for the LeMans/Grand Am and ""G" for the Grand Prix. Except '81 when it briefly was "Asp" or "A Special".... 🤷‍♂️

My Chevy stuff has listed Monte Carlos as A specials. I've only seen Pontiac list the Grand Prixs as G & that includes back to the '69-'72 generation.
