I did one at work on a customers car, went to snug up the bolts... Pop. Cracked the housing in two. Oops!
Carry a tube(s) of JB Quick for these occasions. It's not the best repair, but in a pinch it can get you home without an expensive tow. I keep one in the bed of my truck for just such an emergency.
