just be careful with the rust and salt corrosion on the rear axle. i read a lot of articles online about ford getting in trouble with those rear axles corroding really really really bad.
Ever since I started my driving history, I have had at least usually one Ford in the stable. I haven't the last 4 years though. I traded in the last one, for my current 2000 Sierra 2500....needed room for me, the wife and 3 kids....the 2003 F150 I traded was a single cab...can't get 5 people and 2 babyseats in a single cab, and the payment was a lot less per month as well. I had bought the F150 new, and when I traded it in it had just a tick over 37k miles on it. It was sharp. I've had Escorts (86 and 88), Tempos (85 and 93), Bronco II's (84 and 90), and my Mom still has the 1990 Ranger my Dad bought new. I've never really been a specific brand type of guy...if I liked the vehicle, I liked it. I've had anything from a 1954 M38A1 Jeep, to the 2002 Ford Focus SVT, and everything in between.....I quit counting how many cars I have had when I got my 140th one.... 8)
Not all were nice, or lookers, but I have had a large selection.....even had a 76 Sedan de Ville ......several Jeeps---(2) CJ's, (2) Grand Cherokees, (2) Mustangs, and (2) Wagoneers...I have forgot most of them.....
The wife and I really miss the F150.....and although the truck has been solid (the Sierra), it just isn't made as well as my old F150 was.
Just keep a check on the transmission....I have had a couple friends who have all had problems with blowing the transmission....

Breu did you get to check out the links 78MC posted for you? Pretty convincing. You might want to talk to Ford they may want to buy it back from you or something. I would want to pull things apart and have a look see before I let my family drive off in it.

I did check into it and researched this as well. I have a friend and his Dad is a lead mechanic at a Ford Dealership, he checked the Vin and there are no outstanding recalls on this van. I also checked underneath the van and it's free of rust, also this van is from Pa, where they use sand instead of the salt. I also plan on getting the car undercoated as well to protect the investment . I can tell ya one thing, deal or no deal I wouldn't have gotten it if it wasn't safe for my priceless family 🙂
