I just did a water pump on a 96 351 or 302 van. Had 325,000 miles on it and still ran great. I only replaced it cuz the gaskets on the intermediate plate had rotted out and sense I was there...Not my van, but it runs great and I can't ditch him too bad. We have two fords in our driveway, two vettes, a late model Jag, a Tahoe, A two wheel drive Dually a Sunbeam, an Eagle bus, two Eliminator drag boats, three trailers and an 82 Malibu Wagon. Just stand in your driveway and give 'em the bird!
When i was FORCED to buy the family transport i chose the Chevy Astro. LOVED my 96 AWD LT it kicked *ss and with the Goodyear Wrangler RTS tires it never got stuck in the snow and it hauled anything i hooked up to the tow hitch, I got mine with 130k or so and put another 80k miles and never gave me any problems!! Well changing the plugs was a pain.. sorry for going off track the only Ford's i've only owned was my 87 "tank" like Ranger and my POS 84 Mustang SVO which never got off the ground. SO i would rather own a ford then a import! 😀
