I might be crazy

IMO any factory roller cam small block would be harder to find then no-roller. That said most if not all of the 86+ one piece rear main seal engines are roller "capable". Meaning the were cast to be able to accept factory roller cam parts, ie. the spider and roller lifters, etc. But didn't have the finishing machine work done like drilling and tapping bolt holes. This was the case with the current 350 i'm running.
But then in 96+ you had the vortec motors come out that were all roller cammed.

Not really, lots of the 305 TBI engines from C/K trucks are roller cam ready with the taller lifter valleys and lifter spider retainer bolt hole bosses. It could be anything really.

Now i feel stupid. It's not a 340, it's not even a 305.

I went to check the block casting numbers again, and totally missed the "5.7 Lg SGT" stamped on the back of the block.

the cylinder heads have this casting, cylinder head 14102193. already dug the info on them, typical TBI 305/350 heads.

Intake manifold 14101074, it's an aluminum 305 H/O camaro intake. - junk, its in bad shape

Block, %.7lg SGT, casting number 14093638, 4 bolt main, hydraulic roller cam engine.

I guess this is good, I've got Much better parts than a 305 stroked, but kills my 305 build plans. Because i only have a set of good 305 heads, and a very worn 305 bottom end.

Are there any other upsides to having these parts?? i know the heads are junk. But what about this block/ rotating assembly?

those 14102193 heads are known swirl heads and are good for low end torque and fuel milage. They are not performance heads but they arn't junk either

Ya, now you can build a relatively cheap roller cammed 350. BTW I got a roller cam I will sell at a decent price, lol.

How cheap are we talking? name a fair price and i'll get it off you.

F@*# those heads. I have a set of world S/R toruer's I'll get a valve job done on and bolt up to it. The one heads kind've shotty but **** it, i'll never be able to match the way they where ported by buying a replacement head, the only problem it has are the Cylinder head bolt holes on the exhaust side, kind've ****ed up but still able to be studded on.

I'd be pretty pissed off if a half-assed built Roller 350 puts more power than the one i actually put money into.

Got the motor torn down, I was wrong about one thing It's a 2 bolt main.

Some of the lifters have damage i think, that retainer clip inside the top is partially coming out.

The damn pistons are still pretty clean, what a shame.

This worrys me, the camera i took it with exagerated the picture, but there are still slight slight SLIGHT scatchs at the very top of the cylinder walls?? could this be a problem?? i didn't check but i don't think its this way on any of the other 7.

Other than the scratchs at the top, the cylinder walls are spotless, they don't look that way in the picture but they are just reflecting, so they look dirty but they are actually very VERY clean.

Burnt valves, really bad.

This motor really had less than 5k millage from a fresh build. This really blows having to tear this down because of some *******.
