What is it with people and there honda civics thinking they are so fast. I mean dont get me whole there are some quick ones out there but a cold air and a fart can wont give you 400hp. One day at work this guy was telling me about his friend ran thier civic and ran 11's and i was like holy crap. I was like that thing is really booking it in the quarter mile and he was like no it was the 1/8. LOL i told him that my car would have almost ran a quarter by the time he ran the 1/8.

I used to be into the Saturn cars. I still like them but the forum I used to frequent is no longer around.
I don't know if your familiar with saturns at all, but the S series DOHC cars have speedometers that go up to 135mph, yet are governed to 115.(fuel shut off) I once had a local kid tell me he had his car up to 135, and when I asked him what he did to the computer and he told me nothing, well i just laughed in his face and told him about the whole fuel shut off at 115.

These are the same types of thing that amuse me too.

i had a 94 sl1 with auto trans, i got it up to 107 on the highway. i was so proud of my lil 85 hp plastic sh*t box! and the only mods were k&n air filter, 15x8 rims with bfg g-force sport tires, and i took off the muffler and replaced it with a piece of pipe and an exhaust tip. yay angry bees!

Well it's somewhat easy to get rid of the speed limiter on Saturn manuals trans cars. You install a computer from an auto trans car, but you set a code off, which in NY is no huge deal as long as it's an OBDI vehicle.

Was driving my borrowed totally stock 1998 4 door Cavalier (auto, 2200) yesterday and some young kids pull up beside me in a 90s civic. Had the usual fart cannon, tinted windows, nice wheels, black hood, racing stickers, and big stereo. As we're sitting side be side he starts revving his engine and I can hear him and his buddy laughing. Not really thinking much about it, was to busy thinking about getting my Malibu back on the road in the next few days. So anyway the light is about to go green and I figure, 'screw it' let's play. I hear him revving his little Honda ready to dump the clutch, so the light goes green and I hit it. Well actually I hit about 1/2 throttle lol. Took him off the line, and could hear him over revving trying to keep up, but he couldn't. Kinda made me chuckle, my moms stock Cavalier can beat some of the local rice lol.

the reason you have to wait till it kicks in is cause those sewing machine engines have no torque.....and if you read Honda's explanation of it it's for fuel efficiency, not performance. A friend of mine who owns a transmission shop loves those guys who hop up their hondas. He says he's rebuilt so many of those trannies he can do it with his eyes closed.

Lol one time my buddy was talking too this girl and he was over at his house and he was washing is TA and she was like I can beat that with my car. I just love the confidence from the Honda club. I just thought too my self like she was retarded trying too race a ls1 trans am with a single cam Honda. Lol you wait till that vtec kicks in and it's all over

My brother had a honda, he loved it, great economical car, plus being a wagon had plenty of room for groceries and mountain bikes, lol (I'll still stick to my jeeps, g's, and AMCs  ).
