Installing a tank sump

I’m trying to figure out how I should go about sumping my spare fuel tank. Problem is both of my tanks are baffled tanks.

I’m thinking of mounting the sump more or less here:

And cutting it down in length and height until it’s about half the size it is now. Anyone see any problems with this?

what are you going to use to purge your tank when you weld it?

If your tank is baffled like mine are, you’ve got about 11 inches from the front of the tank to work with. The flat spot where I have the sump sitting in that picture will work perfect if you trim that sump down to around 7 inches long not counting the flange.
Here’s a couple of pics after I got finished fitting it to the tank.

I’ll be trying to purge it with just compressed air AFTER I’ve thoroughly washed the tank with dawn dish soap and water. But I might not purge it at all after I wash it.
