Appreciate it, what wheels are you going to put on it?
mclellan83, I'm thinking something like these wheels;

Although, if I could find the rims I have now in smaller O.D I'd probably stick with that style.

Welcome and it's always nice to hear about a father and son involved in just about anything, especially cars. I'm glad your getting rid of the 22" stilts. IMO they never look good on a G body. You sure nice unmolested platform to upgrade the drivetrain. I hope you'll be upgrading the suspension and brakes to handle to extra power.

Welcome aboard, John.
That's a nice clean Monte. I too am opposed to those wheels...much too much wheel for that car. The style isn't bad, but a smaller version. I'm sure you'll be able to sell those.
Nice to see that it's a father and son project. Hopefully, he'll learn the ropes and carry on. As long as you keep his interest in the project.

Thank you for welcoming us. And we appreciate your comment. The "stilts" nicely put, LOL; I can't stand them. It seems to handle okay but the right is extremely rough.

Yes, we plan on upgrading brakes, suspension and steering components for two reasons. The car needs it and his mother insists the suspension and steering be modernized for his safety being that my son will drive the car from time to time. I haven't researched what it takes to upgrade this stuff yet.

Welcome abroad!
You'll have a lot of fun with the upgrades. I liken these cars to a Lego set- so many parts interchange! You can do it cheap with parts from different model cars (i.e- 98-04 Blazer brakes get you 2 piston calipers and unit bearings), or you can go full-tilt-boogie aftermarket (Wilwood, Baer, etc.).
