I doubt it's near as hot as one would think. No turbos (heat sinks) to save the heat and let it build to make the exhaust another 800 degrees hotter.

And show car??? Fender exits have only one purpose IMHO, and he forgot the power adder between the engine and end of the pipe.

If this where a 1/4 mile car I could see it if there where no mufflers. Seen several cars on the strip over the years where the pipes existed in front of the driver or just under the doors. Shortest exhaust = least resistance. Also everything seems to have good access for on track repairs if needed.

For a daily driver I would defiantly send the exhaust out the back.
