I think i figured it out. That crown looking piece goes first. The bearings surround it. Then that ring goes on so the springs stays in place🤔

Its all together now....but the steering wheel seems kinda loose. It has always has the play in the column....but not sure about the wheel play where it meets the column..

There's always the last resort if nothing goes your way...use the Ford repair kit. Simple to use.

Isn't that the same repair kit for a Fiero...🤔

As far as changing out the ignition keyswitch tumbler, it's luckily the only key operated thing on your car that has one key that goes to nothing else, so you can get a new key/tumbler assembly and swap them out- and it's not that hard as long as you have a lock plate compressor and a steering wheel puller. Then it's easy peasy.

GM p/n for the key switch (comes with 2 keys) is p/n 19356477. Again, you can cheap out and go with the box store brand, up to you.

Amazon sells them for about 26 bucks plus applicable tax. List price is $45 and change.

Hutch does a great job on how to disassemble a steering column to remove the lock cylinder. Watch it completely if you want to understand how this all works, but about up to the 16:30 mark is him getting to and taking out the lock cylinder.

Is he a friend of yours? I noticed he calls you out at the end and says "que the music"

Drove the car around no issues. Dropped off the kit at the auto part store. Had them test the electrical system. They said it has a bad battery when under load. And the alternator has a bad voltage regulator.......

Haha. Yeah, I told him in his videos he should put some 70s p*rn music in them, so he said he would, and that was the one he did it for.

How many amps should my next alternator be? And what should my battery cca be? Built Olds 403 motor. 9 or 10:1 compression. Mini torque starter.

As big as you can fit and afford. You can never have enough electrons.

Strongest battery that fits.

If you stick with a good battery that's around 600-650 CCA or more and 700 or more CA, you'll be just fine.

That alternator amperage depends on what all you got going on electrically. The standard 78A will do if you don't have wham-o-dyne electrical loads like huge speakers and sound system or other loads much greater than stock. Since it's a street car, don't get sucked into that one wire self-exciting alternator crap. You don't need it. It's an extra expense with no real upside since all your factory junk hooks up right at the moment. But you should have a 12SI alternator, so stick with that. Those are good'ns.
