The plug you bought had the lock in clip on it?

I looked up the part # of The alt and its 94amp. So maybe the alt does have a bad voltage regulator plus it was a reman part.....probly ran its course

Ya, same as the one in your link.... It was the last one on the rack too. I been back and forth to the part store so many times, no need to say what car its for😂 If they have another i will get it tomorrow and make sure it clips into place before i leave.

Those are both 12SI cases and that chrome one can be hooked up normal. It does have the 10si fan, the plastic fan is supposed to be superior.

Got my "new" remanufactured alt......same one i had on the car. But looks like its been "clocked"? The plug is on the top side of the alt now. So is that shiny bolt for the ground wire and also theres a sticker that says " there is an external regulator"........
1) So is that shiny bolt for the ground? On the. other alt a brace bolted right there.
2) where do i find this regulator to change it?

Post some pics of it, either it was mispackaged or mistagged with that sticker. Make sure to include the plug socket.

Thats a 12SI internal regulator alternator. Not sure why they put a ground bolt on it unless it's a "fits all" to include Vette which would have a ground wire on the alternator case.

This alt is the same specs as the alt that came off the car. On the other alt, that shiny bolt lined up with the brace. But i dont think the brace is needed...could be an extra part that was thrown on during the swap. Alternator is nice and tight. I figured the alt was being grounded by the bracket its mounted to. Figured i would ask.....unless your saying i need an alt with an internal regulator? Theres not alot of options for a vbelt alt.....
