The hard part is welding the upper control arm mounts to the cast center section. Of course, once all that work is done, you still have a 7.5" axle.

98-03 s trucks had an 8.5 rear end. if you are going to weld arms that would be the diff to do it too.

but it will never be 100% bolt in.
if your looking for a 3:42 or 3:73 rear end, just swap the guts.
