When visiting Montreal many years ago, I learned as a pedestrian to jump if you heard the sound of a car engine!
Even if your were in a legal crosswalk, even if the light was for you!
Don't judge the rest of Canada by the Kaybecoisie. Most drivers in other major cities will give you a one second head start or at least blow their horn before introducing you to a worm's eye view of their undercarriage. Makes chroming the suspension and powdercoating the frame also worth the cost. At least those two coverings make it easier to clean up afterwards.

Would that maybe be Un-yunns??, although I am not sure how you would go about unn-ing a Yunn. The froggish call them Oig-nons so go figure
