I guess I get it. For whatever it's worth, not much of the firewall is visible when it's all together and it's not exactly a high wear area. But I get it.

Its really just a matter of me being picky. I've used so many lousy spray cans that I just don't trust them to hold up the way I want them to. I'm not gonna go crazy block sanding or smoothing out the firewall. I'm just gonna knock the primer back down with a scuff pad and paint it with whatever I decide on.

Duplicolor out of a can is decent and is my preferred also. I experimented with Krylon last week and it suuuucks!
Duplicolor in a can ive used in every condition but the "correct" and has literally never not worked out.

Not an update on the car itself but I've got an update for the garage. I picked up a compressor today. I've been working without one at home since the middle of summer or so. It's been an inconvenience to say the least. I finally had enough last week and started looking for one. I browsed craigslist and Facebook marketplace and didn't see anything I liked, then went over to Harbor Freight and just got pissed off. So I looked at Lowe's and Home Depot next and bought the biggest one I could pay for right now.

Wound up with this-

It's a 30 gallon, 175 PSI, 1.7 HP unit from Home Depot. Its oilless, so it'll be noisy but my old one was oilless too. 5.1 cfm at 90 and 6.8 cfm at 40 psi should be enough for most tasks around the garage.

Here is the tag on it-

It says it can do intermittent HVLP spraying but I'm skeptical. It should be able to handle a schutz gun with ease though. Duty cycle is 50% which is pretty typical without going to a commercial unit. It's not my dream compressor but it's still a huge upgrade from my old compressor and obviously a hell of a lot better than no compressor at all. I'm really just glad I won't have to go to the gas station to put air in tires anymore.
Lemme know how that one does. I was looking at the same one during Xmas, as well as the little larger Husky. I need a bigger unit bad!

Will do. The next size up was a 240V unit and I dont have 240V power in the garage so this was the biggest I could get. I need to get my electrician cousin over here to tell me what I need to do to get a 240V outlet in the garage. He doesn't drink so it's hard to lure him with beer.

I also need to get a retractable hose reel for it too. Should make work a lot easier.

I bought this guy when I got my 26 gallon compressor, I have been pretty happy with it
