All those trailer queens seem like a bunch of work to me. Wouldn't it be easier to just stand around and compare bank statements and stock portfolios?

Lmfaoo

Guys all I gotta say is what a bunch of b*tches some people are. Im only 19 and im proud of my cutlass, so I decided to bring it to a local meet. Seems to be a mistake not one time did one of those old guys with there fancy chromed engine bays and Big block camaros mustangs challangers even come and take a look at my car persoanlly I dont skip anycars ill look at Jimmys 240sx if its there I dont care. You'd think people would at least appreciate a Teenager trying to keep the History alive.

There where a few nice people one had a brand new Dodge Charger Super bee and he said thats a nice car and that made me my day  , a guy with a 50,000 dollar car rolls up beside me saying wow thats nice car.

My best advice is just enjoy your rides as much as you can in about another 5-10 years these cars will be viewd as true classics as well.

 I'm having an awfully hard time believing my eyes.
There used to be a GoodGuys show in Indy my Dad and I would go to every year because the main attraction was nostalgia drag racing. We didn't go this year though because they put a stop to the drag racing. Why would they do that?? The racing drew people from miles around. These guys seem out of touch anymore.

So would I. Actually sometimes I wish we had shows that include those guys. Sure every town has at least one embarrassing hack job with no exhaust, but there are a lot of other really well kept imports driving around that I wouldn't mind getting a closer look at.

That's not right at all. If they are gonna do that, why don't they just make a daily driver, or work in progress category? I'd rather see a bunch of cars that aren't perfect but are weekend warriors that have had work done to them, then a bunch of bone stock cars.

The car show that is held here in Mooresville is posted 1979 or older model cars, which is fine, if they hadn't let that Grand National in :? They told me that my car was too new

There's a weekly cruise-in at PIR here in Portland that draws 800-1200 cars plus another couple hundred bikes. It's also test&tune night at the adjacent drag strip. Pretty fun show overall. They "officially" are open to pre-'73 only. They do, however let clubs in (MG, Ferrari, Corvette, Viper, etc), so it's not really pre-'73 is it? I've found that it really just depends on who you get at the gate. It's usually staffed by young women who can't tell a '72 from an '82 anyway. It's common to see Gbodys, fox body Mustangs, Fiero based kit cars, even the occasional drag boat. Since it's a charity event, I think they would rather have the money than be rule-nazis as long as there's enough room. I understand why they need rules. It keeps Micheal Scott and Dwight Shrute from trying to get in with a Sebring convertible. Most of the "gatekeepers" are volunteers and don't necessarily represent the organizers' intent. Sometimes you just get people who get stuck on the letter of the law rather than the spirit. I'm sure 99% of people would rather see a GN than a new Vette. I don't know how it is in the rest of the country, but in the PDX area there are several shows/cruises to choose from every week. You could probably go to 5 per week and still not hit them all. If one sucks, tell your friends and don't go back. Word gets out and attendance drops. The organizers must adapt or quit.

I'd rather see anything made into something interesting than the entire local corvette club. Don't get me wrong, I like vettes too and even drive one but it's not a show car or a race car. One of the bigger local car shows here in the middle Georgia area is eat up every year with a bunch of damn corvettes from the corvette club and vipers from the viper club. Hell anyone with money or atleast credit can go by a vette. But park the damn thing in the parking lot with the rest of the family cars.

I remember going to that show when i was younger. I was hoping to go this year and I think there is one in Augest too. I still plan to go because I love car shows but
I also want to see if many people in Atlantic Canada still keep the Rotary in thier Rx-7s and if there are any AE86s or Imprezzas.

I will be looking into the no G thing though when I go. suffrn6 were you at the Car show in PEI about 2 weeks ago? there was a guy named Mark and he had an amazing GN and another guy had a buick with a Olds 403 that was pretty nice.

There use to be a weekly Friday night cruise-in at Burgerville on 92nd and Powell in Portland until about 3 or 4 years ago, but the guy who organized it (same guy that organized the Rod and Custom Show at the Expo Center) moved to California. That Burgerville show was pretty much the same cars every week and if nobody knew you, you didn't get a vote. I stopped going to that one because of that. Downtown Gresham has a car show every year (Rockin' Round The Block) and their categories are a freakin joke. It pretty much boils down to if you have anything newer than 1974, don't even bother going because chances are, they are only going to have one trophy for each category (like in past years) and the 75-newer award is going to a 90's or newer Mustang, Camaro/Firebird, Corvette or Challenger. The only reason I'm going this year is because a couple guys in my car club want to go.
