Key won’t turn at all

So, I am very new to most of this but I would imagine your problem is related to the linkage from your transmission to your steering column.
When you switch gears on your console you should see part of your steering column rotate because of this linkage.

I'm sure someone on here knows way better than I but with my limited understanding this is where I would start.

So how many times has it been driven since the new trans was installed and is this the first the key gave you any kind of trouble?

Maybe 500 or less miles and yes this is the first time with any key problems. I did just get underneath it and I think the linkage May be loose I was able to pop it in gear with the tab on the side of the transmission but I couldn’t get the tab to go up any further. It’s sitting at a slant so my wife got nervous. Me to but still nothing

If its in park, bang the cylinder into the column with your hand

If it's sitting on a slant and the wheel is turned and locked in place. Try turning the wheel slightly then turning the key.
