Was on vacation for a week and stopped by. Dad has the engine in and it starts. He needs to drop it a few inches to hook a few things up and then it can get buttoned up and on the wheels. Probably get towed to my place soon and I'll finish the wiring and tune.

It does run for a few seconds, need to figure out if it's the VATS that's preventing it from turning over or what, but it has spark and fuel!

Dad got the engine all installed and I hauled it home.

Got some brakes, wiring and tune related stuff to do.

Currently it runs, but badly. But theres vacuum leaks, the fuel pressure is ???, the ECU has a stock NA tune in it, and there's no map.

Getting close...

Question: if a guy picked up an LT style Pontiac, is it bumper fenders and hood to face swap it? Asking for a friend.

Yeah, I did the LS nose swap on the LT era red fbird.

The headlight wiring is different along with all the plastic under the bumper to route air into the rad.

The only metal thing different that I recall is the brackets where the hood bumpers sit. The LT car had them flat and the LS car had them raised so the hood bumpers aren't tall enough if you put an LS nose on an LT car. It's easy enough to weld the LS ones on or just get some longer bumpers.

Dang, looks like the headlights are different too. Like the Camaro, all the little brackets and crap are going to be necessary to get everything sitting properly and they're unlikely to come attached to Chinese fenders. I have a line on an LT1 Firebird that I could get a cage put in cheaply by its current owner who has raced in my series before.

Lots of tweaking this week. From fuel leaks to bleeding breaks to flashing the ECU with the tune.

Car is running, needs some refinement but getting closer to being mostly done and driveable.

Welded up a few exhaust leaks and adjusted three exhaust so it doesn't hit the floor, filled it with glycol and took it for a 5 mile drive last night.

Washed all the engine swap grime off and installed a few trim pieces in the interior that got removed for the install.

The car does have the typical 4th gen cosmetic problems and definitely needs some shocks and maintenance items but I'll be damned if it doesn't clean up!

Not bad for a bottom of marketplace $1000 abandoned LS swap project!

That is a steal for that price. I just love the colour and drive train.
