Its in a members only thread but it w-body.com. they ended up staying bench seat

I thought the outer floor mounts were always in the same place no matter whether Granny bench, 60/40 or buckets?
That is correct. However, what I meant was, if the tracks could be moved to allow the seats to move closer inward..

Does any one know with absolute certainty if there is a difference between the bucket seat tracks and 60/40 split bench seat tracks? Some guys say they're the same some say they're different.

I'm thinking that the problem is the seat tracks, I've been speculating that was my problem and have been scouring the internet for hours looking to see if there is a difference between manual bucket and manual 60/40 tracks. I think I finally found some proof there is a difference, just wanted to know if anyone can confirm.

I musta got lucky then. Being young and dumb i just tossed my seats (60/40) with the tracks and made brackets for my aftermarket bucket sliders to bolt to. A few years back i stumbled across a bucket/console monte in a yard....yanked the near mint console and seat tracks. Bolted the same buckets right up to the bucket tracks without any issues at all.

no pictures?

The 60/40 track on the driver's side anyway, is different. A few years ago, I bought a left side G body power seat track, thinking it was a bucket seat track. It fit the mounts on the floor of the car, but when I went to install it to the seat, the mounting holes on the seat track were about 1 inch further apart, from side to side, than the mounting holes in the bottom of the seat. I ended up making adapter brackets to mount the seat to the seat track, so I could use the power track. It was one of those "live and learn" situations. I found out for myself that at least on the driver's side, there is a difference between a bucket seat track, and a 60/40 seat track. Hope this helps.
