Hello I'm new to this ...But I have a 84 cutlass I lifted to put 22" rims on. I only used 3" lift cups, now my car rides stiff. Can anyone help with this
When you lift a vehicle that is not meant to be lifted the suspension will become stiff, especially using the cups! You are basically taking away the shocks and springs ability to compress and rebound as they are intended to do in providing a quality ride. That goes for lowering a car a bunch as well but there are more products out to offset the harsh ride that lowered vehicles can experience.Hello I'm new to this ...But I have a 84 cutlass I lifted to put 22" rims on. You have to find a happy medium if you want decent ride quality. Leave the lifting to offroad vehicles and trucks, drop the gbody 1-2" from stock, throw some nice 17's or 18's on that cutlass with decent tires and you will be way happier!!!! Just my 2 cents!
Probably not, shorter springs get stiffer as well. Here in louisville there are lifted gbodies, lowered, juiced and bagged. Hell i saw a cutlass a couple weeks ago on 30's and it was bouncing like crazy! Just need a happy medium on looks and comfort, hard to get both when jacking up a car. Thanks injectedcutty...I'm from the east coast we go up not down. Would a shorter spring with the cups be any different.
Qdub24 so just replace my factory springs an shocks. But will that give me the 3" lift I wantBeen doing this for nearly a decade. Throw those lift cups away. No lift whatsoever is necessary for 22s or 24s. Replace your stock springs and shocks.
