Here's my problem. These 2 brown wires that I cut off the switch (stupid, I know) I didn't identify which went to headlight switch and which went to dimmer. I'm going to have to trace them back as far as possible but can anyone tell me what each on does?
I feel like an a$$ for doing it. Trust me. I know thick red is power and black should be ground.

Dark brown is parking lights (probably feeds the dimmer).
Why the hell did you cut them?
Because I tend to over complicate things. I was going to use a custom switch panel that I fabbed up but now going the stock route

This is from an 81 GM Passenger Car manual. It appears that one should be feed from the fuse (27) and the other is out to the lights (9).
Or, 1 is front parking an the other rear. There was a discussion a few years ago regarding the "2.0" and ".5" callouts. To me, they look to designate wire gauge, but I don't think we ever resolved the mystery.
