just got done putting duals on the car and the drivers side puts out less... i think its due to the gate gadget between the downpipe and the actual header. do i need this or can i take it out with no problems?

Are you talking about the heat riser below the exhaust manifold?

I was thinking that too but he said Drivers Side. I dont recall anything like that on the drivers side

I never heard of the EFE valve on headers or on the drivers side on the cast iron manifold....a picture would help and what brand are the headers?

If he has the 307 Olds engine then the EFE valve is on the drivers side manifold between the exhaust manifold and crossover pipe.

Question is, what "duals" did you put on the car? The stock 442 style Cat-back system or actual true duals from the manifolds straight back? If you installed headers then there is likely no EFE valve there anyway.

I removed mine and ran my emission stuff with headers for a year. i didn't notice any change in driveablility but don't take my word for it.

i think thats what its called, the heat riser. i didnt mess with the exhaust manifolds on the car, but i put true duals on it.
