G bodies have gone up quite a bit, it is their time. It is an Olds 260/TH200 car? I assume you guys get the rust free with a baked interior?
You make good observation. So hoping not 260. I replaced those before back in the 80s with olds 350 and turbo 350. Finding an olds with a 350 wasn't very hard back then, usually pay about 250 for the doner car. If this turns out to be a 260 then it will stay for awhile until can find another Olds 350. I have several vin Y 307s, but for all the effort the small block Chevy has much more support.
Im looking at a Chevy 400 to go in the
caprice, so I can always just put its TBI 305 in it and convert to carb, but also have several small journal 327s collecting dust, so those would work as well. I was finishing up a 327 for the
caprice, but a 400 would be better in a big car, may set the 327 in the cutlass. Here's hoping it is a 307 or 350, don't have the vin. But more important it appears to be a good starting point as interior not to bad, body panels look ok and has all its glass.
I always wanted to do a 377 build and have extra 3.25 and 3.0 cranks. I have several forged 3.25 cranks which I think ends up as 351. And I have a 283 built but never installed, 283 might not be bad idea, it has nice set of flat tops in it.
But anyway thanks for chiming in, I guess just hope it's not a 260, but it will be what it is and I'll have to work around it.
