man, picts! you got me all worked up thinking about this girl and no pics to go with it... damn tease... awesome project man and it seems you are doing it the right way too, with all the goodies... keep it up, Im subscribed to get all the updates, keep it coming...

WELL I RAN INTO MORE PROBLEMS SATURDAY. I BOUGHT HEADERS, MOTOR MOUNTS AND CROSSMEMBER FROM HEDMAN. THEY WERE THE ONLY PLACE I COULD FIND THAT HAD HEADERS WHEN I STARTED THIS PROJECT 1 GOT THE 1 7/8 INCH TUBES. PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE WENT WITH 1 3/4. THE CLEARENCES ARE PRETTY TIGHT, BUT THEY WILL FIT. THE BAD PART IS THE CROSSMEMBER. IT LOOKS NICE BUT IT DOESN'T FIT. IT IS UP AGAINST THE FLOOR PAN ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. I AM WAITING FOR SOME ANSWERS FROM HEDMAN AS TO WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I REFUSE TO BEAT THE FLOOR PAN IN TO MAKE IT WORK. I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING IN THEIR ADVERTISING ABOUT THAT. I WILL MODIFY THE ORIGINAL CROSSMEMBER BEFORE I POUND DENTS IN THE FLOOR. DOES ANYBODY ON HERE HAVE A PRINT SHOWING WHERE TO NOTCH THE FACTORY CROSSMEMBER FOR DUAL EXHAUST? ONE THING FOR SURE, I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND HEDMAN.
MORE LATER.

MIKE

Does your stock crossmember work, just the exhaust is the issue? If so I think G-force has the nicest dual notch crossmembers on the market. Iceman is pretty decent as well although seems a little flimsy compared to the bulkier G-force.

If you bought the Hedman kit, I think that's the same as the BRP kit. The headers and engine mounts are great, but the trans crossmember is garbage. I had to ding the primary that is closest to the passenger side rear lower control arm ear. It's really close but it doesn't touch and there's not much movement in those mounts.

Post up some pictures I'd like to see how you're doing so far.

progress?
I MUST APOLOGIZE. I'VE BEEN BUSY TRYING TO GET THINGS DOWN AROUND THE HOUSE THAT I SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOING ALL SUMMER, BUT SOME HOW MANAGED TO PUT OFF. I HAVE PRETTY WELL DECIDED THE CAR WON'T BE DOWN TILL SPRING. I DO PLAN ON GETTING THIS THING FIRED UP HOPEFULLY WITHIN A MONTH? I AM MAKING SOME PROGRESS. MY CURRENT PROBLEM IS GETTING THE STEERING PUMP HOOKED UP. I BOUGHT AN FITTINGS AND BRAIDED HOSE TO MAKE MY LINES, BUT THEY WON'T WORK ON THE C6 CORVETTE PUMP. THE PRESSURE PORT ON THE PUMP IS ALMOST UNDER THE PULLEY. BY THE TIME I PUT THE ADAPTER INTO THE PUMP, THE 90 DEGREE FITTING WON'T CLEAR THE PULLEY. I ORDERED A CORVETTE HOSE ASSY, WHICH WILL WORK ON THE PUMP END, BUT THE GEAR END TUBE IS TO TALL AND RUBS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PULLEY. I AM GOING TO GO TO TUBES N HOSES AND SEE IF THEY CAN SHORTEN UP THE 90 DEGREE TUBE AND REFLAIR IT FOR ME. IF THAT DOESN'T WORK I GUESS I WILL HAVE TO SCRAP THE C6 ACCESSORY DRIVE AND GO TO THE F BODY ACCESSORY DRIVE. SUPPOSABLY THE F BODY SET UP MOVES EVERYTHING TOWARDS THE RADIATOR, WHICH WOULD GET THE PULLEY AWAY FROM THE STEERING GEAR PORT. I PULLED THE GAS TANK SATURDAY SO I CAN INSTALL THE SENDER AND PUMP WHEN I GET SOME TIME. STILL NEED TO WIRE UP THE IGNITION AND FAN CONTROLLER. I STILL NEED TO ORDER A DRIVE SHAFT. I CAN SAY THEY AREN'T CHEAP. I WILL GET SOME PICTURE AND POST THEM IN MY ALBUM SOON.

just a friendly suggestion...

ok, you can get the corvette stuff to work i think... there are fittings with other angles to, will a 120 degree angle work, can you take picts of the area where you r talking about, maybe others can help with suggestions, would help me to kinda see it...

Looking good, I might have missed it but what mounts and headers are you using?
THE HEADERS, MOUNTS, AND CROSS MEMBER ARE FROM BRP. HEADERS ARE 1 7/8 INCH TUBES. THE CROSSMEMBER IS GARBAGE. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND IT. HEADERS FIT BUT THEY HAVE SOME MIGHTY TIGHT CLEARANCES. THE MOUNTS BOLTED RIGHT UP TO EXISTING HOLES. KIND OF A PITA TO GET INSIDE THE CROSSMEMBER TO BOLT THEM DOWN.
