Looking good, I might have missed it but what mounts and headers are you using?
THE HEADERS, MOUNTS, AND CROSS MEMBER ARE FROM BRP. HEADERS ARE 1 7/8 INCH TUBES. THE CROSSMEMBER IS GARBAGE. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND IT. HEADERS FIT BUT THEY HAVE SOME MIGHTY TIGHT CLEARANCES. THE MOUNTS BOLTED RIGHT UP TO EXISTING HOLES. KIND OF A PITA TO GET INSIDE THE CROSSMEMBER TO BOLT THEM DOWN.

If you haven't found one yet, get one from Iceman racing if you want to stick to a tubular. His name on eBay is pitqueen. My 4L60E fit perfectly with BRP mounts and Rick's crossmember.

G-Force makes some pretty nice crossmembers but they are heavier than stock ones. If it's a street or autocross car then this one will be the one you want, the tubulars can have a little flex in them.

i started working on this thing again. i think i'm getting close to firing it up. finaly got the wiring pretty well done. now i'm down to the fuel system. i have most of it, just need to get busy and get it installed. i did manage to order up my drive shaft yesterday. probably went a little overboard on it. i decided to go with steel. got it from denney's drive shafts in new york. they have a life time warranty and free modifications if you ever decide to change transmissions or basicly anything. i went with the 1350 chrome molly slip yoke. there good up to 1500 h.p. doubt i will need it. i decided not to put the front brakes on untill i get the car running. i don't have any rims yet that will clear the brakes. if anyone has any suggestions on what 18" rims would look good on a monte let me know. i also have to decide what to do with the suspension. i'm thinking
coilovers at this point. does anyone know if coilovers on the rear cause a problem with tailpipe clearence. it looks like the lower mounts are moved in so they set more verticle. once again i will try to get some pictures posted.

finally got the engine fired up last night. sounds really awesome with the pipes system and borla pro xs mufflers. a little carb tuning and some suspension work, will be ready to roll.

That's awesome man! You been working on this for quite a while....would you do it all over again?

Have you been documenting your work? I'm interested in something similar soon.
