LS Swap vs Chevy 350

Unfortunately decent Olds V8 cores are drying up. A few Olds guys who wouldn't put a sbc in their Olds went with a LS. That should answer your question right there. You have research both as neither is bolt in without buying all the extras needed to properly do the swap.

I'm one to agree with keeping an olds with an olds motor but if olds was still in business they would have LS and LT motors in them also. In your case just have fun with the car a 350 will fit easy and last forever. Plenty of ways to modernize a 350 and make it feel as you wish. Best of luck.

Ahhh the age old question. Which generic Chevy motor should I put in my car.
Generic Chevy Engine ??? Did somebody wake up on the wrong side of the bed or just not get any during this pandemic nightmare ? ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE. When is the lat time ANY GM division even made they’re own V-8 ? The Cadillac Northstar and its variant in the Olds Aurora is the last ones that come to mind. BOP made good V-8s over 5 liters. For years now Cadillac has used Chevy in they’re best, CTS-V and Escalade. They didn’t even put the Northstar in the last few years of the RWD Fleetwood . As for easiest to install, since it has a 307, stick with BOP. Availability of engine and trans, goes to Chevy Potential power goes by your wallet. If a Chevy was bad in a BOP, then why did GM start doing it in the 70s?
