LT1 Running Hot

Every time I start my car up it runs not. I bleed the lines the way someone said to do on another forum. The outlet hose is hot, but the inlet hose is cool. Also, I have a gbody radiator.

What is the temperature the motor is running at? Most low emission engines are set run hot.

One of the hoses being not the same temp as the other would certainly indicate that coolant is not circulating through the system. I just replaced a stuck thermostat on my car, because of the same symptoms. Engine getting hot quickly, and one of the hoses was totally cold.

I check thermoset and it opened up at 180. The temp got all the way up to 220+, but then I turned the car off. Also it got all the way up to 240+ before I bleed the lines for the second time.

Remember the LT1 takes a different thermostat than the "normal" small block chevy does

Yes, I go the right one. I took it out about 3 times to see if it was right.

Water pump drive coupling installed?

Building any pressure on the hoses? No pressure (or very little) and pressure on only the inlet hose identify the issue - let us know.

A little history might help - just start happening, new build. Is it a reverse flow? Right water pump?
