Lug Nuts

I'm going to end up running wheel spacers (1.25") on my 1979 Grand Prix to fit some salad shooter Corvette wheels on it (photshop included). I've only test fit one of them (not torqued down completely), and found that the conical shape on the stock lug nuts are too shallow. Once the hex shape gets closer to the cone shape on the spacers it starts to gouge into the sides. So I'm looking for suggestions (even if you know the thread pitch) of lugnuts that look like the stockers, but maybe have 2x deep conical shape to them?

12x1.5 metric open nuts have worked for me many times and are also what we used at custom wheel shop. They have a slightly wider/longer cone base that will seat easily. $20 on amazon. Those closed end nuts will not work with spacers.

From what I remember originally 78-81 cars used SAE 7/16x20 and 82-88 used metric 12x1.5. That said who knows what was changed in the cars lifetime. So be sure to check what you actually have before ordering anything. And FWIW factory original wheel studs would have either an S or an M stamped on the end for standard and metric respectively.

Thanks everyone for your help! I'll check the wheel studs first for stampings, if that fails I'll double check with my thread guages (I believe I have somewhere).

Incorrect for 79, unless somebody changed them already

The Dorman number I posted a link to is what you're going to want, shop around for pricing.
I was able to confirm with my SAE thread guage tonight 20 threads per inch. Thanks again everyone
