Your friends '60 Imperial looks very nice. And you said he has two of them?

The Malibu wagon that my taillights came from. Was that a local car, or was it also a Swiss delivery?

From Swiss, in France the Malibus Wagons come almost all from Swiss. They had not yet thirty years so no direct import from the USA. Now they are thirty years old, import would be easier but I think it will be over El Camino imported.
My Wagon was Manufactured in Baltimore Maryland but before arriving in France he was in Swiss.

Sebastien,
Your friend Franck has some really nice cars. That Imperial is beautiful...and I like the '35 Dodge coupe...that's sweet.
What motor is in the Dodge coupe? It does look like it has been mildly hot rodded.
Does he plan to restore the other Imperial, or is that one for parts?

So any Malibus that eventually ended up in France were imported to Switzerland first. How interesting.
How did you find your Malibu wagon?

Thank you for posting the pictures. It's nice to see what car enthusiasts in other countries are doing.

Hello Jacques,
this is actually a Dodge mildly hot rodded. The engine is 318 mopar, and Dodge comes from Florida.
In total two Imperial will be restored, a restoration is finished for one.
If interested I can put pictures of meeting in France?
My blue Wagon I found in France with French normal Title in an old Man.
My black Wagon I found in France just next to the Swiss and no Title.

Blue Wagon has two plates, one Gray for the France and one Red when he was in Swiss (I can now remove)

Bon jour Sebastien,
So your wagon has separate 2-separate ID plates. Are they for certification in each country, or are they VIN (vehicle identification) numbers?
Thank you for sharing this information.

Did Franck find the '35 Dodge in Florida? The other unrestored Imperial looks like alot of work ahead. Was the restored Imperial in just as rough condition?

I remember you telling me that you bought the Malibu from an old man in France.

Yes, I'd love to see more pictures of car meets in France.

bonne journe'e

Jacques

Yes it is the certificate for each country.
- For Swiss (Red) there Wrote Chevrolet and VIN.
- For France (Gray) there Wrote Chevrolet, And VIN, and GVWR, and GCWR, and front Max Load Axle, and rear Max Load Axle.
The VIN is the same on each plates, the Red, the Gray and that behind the Windshield from USA.

Yes it has completely redone the Imperial.

Bonne journée Jacques, a plus tard.

It's interesting that the car needs a certification from each country. But it makes sense. Every country has it's own rules and regulations.

The Ford Taurus is a larger vehicle.. The Taunus I believe is a German Ford. I once owned a English Ford Cortina. The Taunus is not a bad looking car. But that was an older model. I'm sure the newer cars are alot different looking.

This is what the Ford taurus looks like: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Taurus

I see your friend also has a Jeep Wagoneer.

Bonne journe'e Sebastien

a plus tard

Jacques

The Taunus is the name in France, the same car in England is Cortina, in Germany also call it Knudsen (tc1). brief, the American car is much better 😀

Yes Franck also a Kaiser Wagoneer 1969 with a engine 350 Buick :

Thank you for the link, the Ford Taurus I have not seen until now.

Bonne soirée Jacques.

Sebastien,
Franck has some nice cars. I'm surprised the Wagoneer still used the Kaiser name on it. It must drive nice with the Buick 350 in it. In America, the Kaiser brand was dropped in the '50's. In the earlier years, the Willys name was associated with Jeep.

Bonne soire'e Sebastien... and have a good weekend.

Nice wagon!

I like the amber front lenses.

Just wanted to add that the side marker (on fender) in the US version is also a turn signal....it flashes alternately with the front signal lamp.

The KM/h speedo should bring good money over here when you replace it with the MPH version. I know at one time there were several people looking for them.
