Bonjour Sebastien.
I see you have another one of your countrymen join us. How cool is that..

I like your little travel trailer (caravan). Do you pull it alot? I've thought of maybe getting a small vintage travel trailer and pulling it with my wagon. too.

Bonjour Jacques,
Always Happy to Read.
The travel trailer is a "Sterckeman" of 1972 and Neighbors have brought claims that it is not pretty in my garden :x So I offered the travel trailer has my friend Franck "Imperial", It will be usefull.

One Day I saw Beautiful Trailer, I think it the comes From the USA, It will call a Teardrop.

A plus tard.

Hello,

😢 😢 😢 I left the Wagon at the Roadside for the first Time (breakdown), a Friend came to tow me.
The engine is off in driving.
Once the Wagon was towed home I searched the failure. It was the Condenser from Ignition, I do not understand because I had replaced four years ago, It was a Airtex.
Luckily I had Kept my Old Parts so I could ride until my order from the USA. (Distributor Rotor and Cap, Condenser, ICM, Ballast, Oil Filter, Alternator)
Alternator makes a funny noise(probably bearing)

The order is in Transit and now it's the starter makes the vagaries :x Arfff May Will no be Good. 😢

nice evening.

Salut Sebastian, et beinvenue au Gbody Forum.

I see that I'm not the only one who has saved a Malibu From Switzerland. I've enjoyed reading and looking at your pictures in this thread. Keep up the good work.

Bonne Route

Pat

Hello Sebastien,
I'm sorry to hear about your car breaking down. I guess with an older vehicle anything can happen at any time.
Where did you order the replacement parts from, Rockauto?

Did you give Franck your trailer, or are you just storing it there? Neighbors can sometimes be a pain in the *ss.
The tear drop trailers are cool, but small. Our cars can pull them with no problem. They are commonly towed by streetrods.

That 35 dodge coupe has traveled....

It belonged to a retired GM transmission plant employee, from Windsor Ontario, he was a co worker of my brother in law's. He was a typical Canadian snow bird winters in Florida, summers in Ontario and Quebec. That dodge was one of his toys, he put a lot of time and money into it, he enjoyed it even though he never really got finished to his standards. When the guy passed away his widowed had a hard time selling it,unlike some of his other cars. For a while my brother in law advertised it here in south western Ontario for her before it was bought in Florida and shipped to France. It may have looked nice but there were a few issues and soft spots in the frame I know it's current owner spent a bit of time and money welding up those areas of the frame. From the pictures I have seen of the work done to it when it frist arrived in France by it's current owner, Frank is a true craftsman. I never cared for the 90's lincoln BBS rims on it, it needs different wheels IMHO

Pat,
That coupe has certainly traveled around a bit. Quite a history behind it as well. I thought it was a Florida car exclusively, but I didn't figure it to be from north of the border.. interesting.

Jack, just cause a car is in Florida don't mean it's a Floridian car. The 95 Caprice wagon I picked up in Jacksonville last month might be clean and rust free low miles, but it was sold new in NY city....

Snow birds.....

Hello Jacques,
This is my first car breaking down with the Wagon, but it doesn't no matter it made me so much service 😀

yes, the remplacement parts from Rockauto:
- Distributor Rotor.- Distributor Cap.- ICM.- Ballast.- Oil Filter.- Altrenator. (Delivery in court from Dubuque, IA)

From Ebay in USA: Condenser. (Received in four days from NY)

I always order the USA, if possible shipping to France.
Two things that I could not import: Tires and Battery, then I imported Adapter for battery.
I love it when the packets come from the US. Can you think I'm crazy? But I really like.
I must admit that in France the parts are expensive.
Example: One Oil Filter it is the same price but I prefer to buy in USA. My order by Rockauto is cheaper than the only Alternator in France.(for 1 euros = 1.27 USD)

Yes I gave my Trailer in Franck, it will definitely modified later.

Bon dimanche Jacques
A plus tard.
