It's an ugly duckling all right. But that doesn't mean it doesn't work well.

Steve,
That carb looks like a crusty paperweight. Some people think they're sitting on gold...🙄 They should pay you to take it off their hands.

Jack, that carb does look pretty bad but to me it's well worth $50. I have been looking for a carb like that one for a long time. It's listed fro a 76/77 chevy 454 pickup so it should be an 800 cfm

oh and Jack, I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to Mark...but I forgive you...

I know...I know...I just had to add my $.02....:blah:
I'm sure with a good soaking and cleaning you'll turn a sow's ear into a silk purse.

and your $0.02 converted to the Canadian dollar is worth about $5...

and always appreciated...:friday:

I've seen worse.... but seriously, a good soaking in Permatex Carb Cleaner will do wonders. I buy the gallon can. Don't waste your time with spray can cleaners, they took out the good solvents long ago. We have to keep the public from pointing the spray straw at their eyes and letting fly don't ya know. The Permatex will dissolve everything but the metal so make sure it's stripped completely, no plastic. It stinks like hell too. AND DON'T GET IT IN YOUR EYES!!!!

Mark, you have a good eye, they had 2 carbs for sale and the 217 was supposed to be sold. The 212 was the one I was interested in. I hope they sent me the wrong pictures but thanks to you I can confirm that before I make the trip. I'll let you know what the deal is...thank you
