Yeah the transmission will be the next thing to be redone. At least it's a TH350 car, so I'm lucky there. And the rear has been rebuilt with 3.73 limited slip and a support cover. Hopefully it lasts long enough for me to get a 9". But I'm also running 'pizza cutter' tires. So I'm hoping it will be good enough until next summer.
L82 heads are 882's? are you sure? everything I have ever heard about them they have a 165cc intake runner. The vortecs have 170. Of course the vortec has a more improved and advance combustion chamber and runners combined with the moving of the spark plug location helps make more power but still if the L82 heads are what I thought they were than he should make a good 350hp which is completely respectable for daily street car.

The heads have had a lot of work done, they aren't stock. And it has 10.5:1 compression. I'll post pics of the build and dyno sheet when I get it. But that will be with it's old set up. It had a huge intake and a 750 Demon on it before. Going with a performer and a 600 Edelbrock.
This will be my first time having an Edelbrock carb. Always ran Quadrajets and a couple Holleys (hate them Hollys lol).
Now let's just hope it's finished when I stop by there tomorrow.
No no no, well built and VERY well tuned quads>ever other card 😀
Pheonyx I really hope you make out well with it. I really feel like I've been shittin in your cereal here just want you to know I'm not normally like that just wanted to make you aware it seemed like the guy was taking advantage a little.
And after your list of sh*t hes installing for $2000 your really not making out too bad on the install. Just wiring an MSD box by someone who knows how to do it clean and nice is easily a $350-$500 bill. Add on the exhaust work, tuning it in well, and the overall physical installation you'll get your money's worth on the labor. Plus you have the comfort of showing up there and going "Hey theres some sh*t wrong with something you did!" and getting it fixed for probably free.
The motor I still feel is a little pricey but if you really cant get a crate up there in the middle of the arctic circle than I guess it is what it is.
OK finally an update on my engine. He just got the headers installed (they sent him the wrong ones the first time) and we fired it up today (just on headers), and WOW it sounds good. We decided against the gear drive (I'm sure most people will be happy with that lol) and he put a good chain on it. Just needs to hook the exhaust up and tune it, then I'm ready to go.
He showed me some of the dyno sheets, it had a best pull of 436HP. But that was with a bigger carb, and who knows what for ignition, gas, and exhaust. He said it is easily 375-400HP right now.
But, there is some bad news. It turns out my transmission isn't a TH350, it's a TH250. So I'm gonna have to go easy on it until I get a TH350 put in. Now a quick question, will a TH350 be a direct bolt in, drive shaft and all?
So, now this should be fun, we just had a snow storm, wonder if it's gonna get any traction? lol
