O ok, I was under the impression that they salted the roads. Here in CNY they salt/sand the HELL out of the roads... never buy a car in CNY... My Elky was proof... when i took my TH350 out the x member desinigrated in my hands... i was surprised it did not break under the load of the engine and bumps... I drove it 2 straight summers like that before being told my x member was bad... Well it was worst then bad.. It was Scary Bad! I Am happy my frame is in good condition and that i wont have any problems with that. Look Forward to the pictures and video!
Wow that's kinda scary about your old x member.
OK so here's the latest update. No car yet today, for two reasons. #1 I can't get it into the exhaust shop (to get the collectors hooked up to my existing exhaust) because they are booked solid for the next 2 days. And #2 my mechanic won't let me take the car, he likes it to much and since we are in the middle of an (almost) blizzard and he doesn't want me to wreck my car. And I can't blame him lol, as much as I want it back and want to drive it, I know it would be a bad idea.
But we got talking about exhaust last night, and I asked him what he thought of my set up (my existing system). And he told me straight up that he thinks it's sh*t. He thinks it was done poorly and that it's to small (he said it's only 2", I didn't realize that). So I asked him where he thought would be a good place to get exhaust. He told me no where, and that he thinks exhaust shops are i big waste of money. And that I should just get one of those pre made set ups like many of you on here have. He said he can hook me up for about $400 (not including a new xmember). So I think after winter I'm gonna order one of those setups and a set of chambered turbo tubes.
But like I said in an earlier post, I gotta worry about my transmission next. He's pushing for a 700r4, but I'm not a fan of the 1st to 2nd gear jump in those. But if I could get one with the 1st gear ratio changed I would consider it, but I don't know what that would cost. I'll probably just go with a TH350 because it's cheaper, I know it will be strong, and it will be a direct replacement.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this before. As some of you know I have double adjustable uppers on my rear. But they are still set to the factory length. He has the equipment to set my pinion angle and he's gonna do that for me too.
Well I guess I'll quit rambling on here, I'm just excited lol. It's been months since I drove my car, and I've never had anything with this kind of power lol. I will keep you updated.
