My guess is high 13's. From experience, I'm not a fan of Edelbrocks and think you would do better with a good Q jet. Heat up your tires and you should hook at the track. Track conditions are typically better than on the open street. Post your results and let us know. The 79' Cutlass is a light car.

Well, my first run was a 14.5 at 93 because I had a 1.089 reaction time. My first time ever racing on a track. Had to get the jitters out. Then the car consistently ran 13.83's at 98 all night. Until belts kept just flying off. I have a real bad wheel hop problem off the line. Fastest run was my last one. 13.77 at 99. I wanted to break that 100 mark so bad. We tried bumping up the timing and the car went from 13.8 to like 13.97. Wasnt detonating or anything either. Limped it two hrs home and tomorrow will be fixing all the pulleys that are now way off alignment for some reason. My first race, smoked my dad's t-type by two seconds. Then kept getting better and better. Cant wait to go back.

Nice congrats.
You got the itch

You check the plugs? See if its running lean? More timing usually needs more fuel.

If you got wheel hop check ur air pressure and also check pinion angle etc.

from experience... 14's. and that would be respectable. Drop your rear tire pressure to about 20 lbs- otherwise your tires will just spin as well.

What were yer 60 footers?
My best 60' was 2.024. 330' was 5.72. 1/8 was 8.844. 1/8 mph was 78.27 and my 1000' was 11.551

Congrats, Your MPH is pretty good, looking at your 1000ft. ET, that car has 13.5s in it, your falling off after the 1000ft. May be going lean up top, Signs of this is when you put more timing in it & it slowed, Don't you just love it when you throw a belt, This happened to me on my last outing, Had to limp to the nearest O'Reillys, luckily i have my PS belt around the WP pulley, I normally throw the Alt. belt, so my WP is still going.

Any way to adjust the leaning out in the top? I run an edelbrock 600 right now. If needed I can go bigger on the carb..

A box stock holley 650dp will do wonders, no bigger though, Just expect to blow those street tires off when you hammer down on it, Keep the 600 eddy as your street carb, use the 650dp as your track carb, Down the road drop in a 2800 stall & some sticky tires, you should see low 13s pretty easy.

I would LOVE to go sticky tires. I was already afraid of blowing the 7.5" with street tires though.
