I also did not get that vibe from him that he would be a scammer and he used to be on here all the time.
What kind of window parts did you buy?

I've PMd him many times with no replies at all. He posted in May that he put manual windows in his project, and he was selling off all the power window parts including the harness. We agreed on price and I mailed him the check.

Is it possible something may have happened to him -accident, death, jail? Does this seem out of character for the seller?
Have you searched the internet for his name and, I assume, you have other contact info?
I tend to trust people but I will ensure they have a solid reputation before any online dealings.

Was the payment mailed where it went through or into the US? The US Postal service takes this seriously, and I personally have had success in getting my funds back after the Postal Service got involved. Just an avenue to consider if you can't get resolution in the usual way.

I was thinking since the OP sent a check he could do a phone number lookup and see if contact can be made.

Something had to happen quickly as others said. Planned surgeries, moves, you can warn others of delays. Just getting off the forum for a few months, with no posts seeming to suggest any hard times personally, accepting money just leads to "not so good" speculating.

Wouldn't hurt to look into opening a mail fraud case with the PO.

Personally, I hope it can be resolved without opening a case, but if it can't, that is definitely an avenue to go down.

He got the check on June 8th, cashed it that day, said he'd ship the parts. Never heard from him again. I've sent at least 6 Mps since then, even just asking for my $$$$ back . No reply. I don't want to go federal about it, after all some major catastrophe may have happened to him or in his life. I only started this thread hoping another member might be able to know him personally, and I could at least get some answers. Right now I'm to deep in my conversion project to put out $$$$ for anything else. I just spent almost $700.00 in the last week for parts, tools, and materials I need to continue. Thanx for the offers of parts though.

10 days is more than enough time to ship and since he visited the site after he cashed the check,

I think we are safe to assume he is OK and something fishy is going on.
