a guy called perry's resin used to make a resin cast malibu sedan and wagon. don't know if he's still in business. got lot's of models all packed in boxes since the past 13 years. with the new house this yar I will finally have a place to build them again.

Not model cars but I used to customize 1/64 die cast Hotwheels, Johnny Lightning, etc. Here are some G bodies I customized. They are all custom painted with an airbrush, lowered, and wheels from different vehicles. They still roll too. Some have small things done like cowl hoods, mirrors, etc.

Where did you find the 79 Monte Carlo? I have been looking for one for years.

Nice job. Hopefully it is cheaper to insure then its big bother!

I really enjoyed building models when I was a teenager. I was stuck in the house during our bad Winters and back in the 70's it was easy to buy plastic models of tanks, cars, planes, etc. Had a great Hobby Shop within biking distance in my town and I spent most of my money on them. That was until I got my drivers licence. Priorities changed overnight! Only problem was all the smelly plastic cement fumes destroyed my brain! LOL

My model building days were in the late '50s and early '60s. I even finished a couple! 😀

Car Craft was my friend. They had a section devoted to it, showing how to do all kinds of stunts. Not a lot of "aftermarket parts" though.

Built a bunch of 1/24 kits when I was a kid... Got into modding 1/18 die casts and never looked back.
But obviously I'm gonna build an Olds kit! Put this one together last May... My first kit in almost 20 years!

i used to love building models. its gotten so expensive these days. i wanted to get my kids into it but the stores by me have kits starting at $20. i don't remember it being that much for the stage 1 and 2. i do have a 1968 super bee i started when i was 16. i built the actual car with my neighbor. some how the body fell and got damaged so i said screw it and bashed up the whole kit. then i got another kit and started building a clean one and have plans to make a scene with it from junkyard to rebuilt. been working on that for 20 years lol
