Well I have never had issues with mine bought from ebay but the problem you have is that you got black housing and it doesn't reflect the light as well as the chrome ones so your light quality will be suck. The ones I had were the chrome projector ones and I had 35w hid kit and my lights were bright as hell like having high beams on so switch to the chrome ones if you want your Headlights to light brighter these are mine and my boy headlight.

Hadn't thought of that. Makes sense though. Wonder how much I'd gain going to the new headlights if I DIDN'T change the black headlight frames? I kinda like 'em! :)

Well try getting the 55w hids and see if it helps a little more if you want to change the black Headlights then you gotta deal with the reflection not being so bright that's all.

Was at a car show in Nebraska yesterday. Saw a few cars, including a couple G-bodies, with upgraded headlights. Admittedly, I had to google "HIDS." I found this:
http://www.carhidkits.com/h6054-open-beam-projector-headlights-292.html

That seems to be just the headlight "Housings." Is it safe to assume that I'll also need this?
http://www.carhidkits.com/55w-x-treme-hid-kit-227.html

Does that also include bulbs? What else would I need? Do I have to upgrade wiring?

I have no idea if this is a good brand, it was just what Google popped up. Are these a direct fit? Will I have to do modifications? Is there an "All-in-one" kit for a 1979 Monte? Seems I have more questions the more I dig!

I see that the original company I looked at also has these:

or
http://www.topgearautosport.com/par...een_LED_Sealed_Beam_Headlight_Conversion.html

Neither of those have the "Black Chrome." I assume, for functionality, that would be better.

Also, I think I read your earlier post incorrectly:

I ASSUMED you meant my blacked out headlight bezel. You were actually talking about the headlight itself. Correct?

Do not waste your money on 55 watt hid. They use the 35 watt bulb with the 55 watt ballast (that is if it is a 55 watt or just snickered 55 watts). The 55 watt ballast scatters the light using a 35 watt bulb. Philips does make a 55 watt bulb and that will cost you about $200 per bulb. I have 4 hella conversion lenses, a bi xenon 4300K bulb for my hi/lo and a 4300K hid for the high beam and that lights up the road real well. I have never outdriven my healights

Would one of these be a better alternative?
