i bought 83-84 style home brew stickers in red for my newly painted 86' ss for like $35. i'm not 1 for the sticker stripes. when had the stickers put on by a sign pro, i got em to put the stickers down in general vicinity, for doors i may have said come up 1.5- 2" from the body line, maybe 2" back from frt fender/ door gap.. on trunk i came up maybe 3"? and had it centered best could. 'chevrolet" under drvr side headlights had put under headlights centered on body line. best advice pay a pro to put em on. 87/88' come up from body line as i did, if no sticker stripes. wait those 2 yrs with stripes didnt they go on the top of body lines then sto'p at the wheel wells? do pic searches, ya gona have to come back 6" at least from fender/ door gap. i get it if wanna be purist, i'm 1 that wants to make a purist scratch their (_*_) for atleast 30 secs with a 87 spoiler and as bought 120 spedo from 1st owner 22 yrs ago who bought it as a dealership employee.
