14.22 sounds good relative to the mph especially when you see the 60 foot. What is your rev limiter set at? When my GN was box stock original first time I had ever been to a drag strip it ran a best of 13.96 at 98mph. I don't remember what my 60s were but with the crappy little 215s it was probably like 2.2.

18mpg probably is not bad with 3.73s especially if you have shorter 26" tires. I got 17mpg with the Olds but I'm satisfied with that as its with a 509ci that runs 110mph out the back door. Looking at all the guys with bigger cams, a square bore carb, and a 3 speed getting 10ish mpg at $3+ a gallon I'm glad I set mine up as I did.

Still running the factory tune with a 5600 rev limiter. This is only the second year I have had the car together so I still have some things to play with. So far though I have been very impressed with the times and overall reliability of this build, especially for the VERY little I have invested. Both your builds sound pretty slick, got any pics?

I will get some digi pics in the next couple weeks and see if I can get them posted. The tranmission I have in the 442 shifts at 5200 so thats my rev limiter for the big Cad same with the GN which is good as keeping the rpms down keeps engine longevity up. I bought the GN brand new and the engine is bone stock except for valve springs & new head gaskets. The Cad was free but then I did a stock rebuild with cam, bigger valves, & a little home port work so still very cheap relative to the performance at least for a reliable pump gas build. The GN was expensive when new but became cheap relative to performance and the Cad was cheap except for the headers which I have about $700 in. Today you can buy aftermarket mid length that will fit a g-body for $289. Anyway yea I hear ya with trying to make it fast & affordable, with 4 kids to feed car projects come after everything else.

I thought I would post up some better pics than my first ones. My car isn't as nice as Tony's car but I like it.
