Load height for a 5660 is 10.75 inches with a small block

They will act as a drop spring an inch or two depending on your engine and options

5660's with a big block and ac

Do you have taller lower ball joints ? A BBC is pretty heavy but I take the hood is lightweight fiberglass. I may go with the 5658 than cutting a quarter coil from the 5660 if i can get a 1 inch drop in my GP with a Pontiac 400.

No stock height ball joints,

It does have tubular upper and lower arms

Wow, quite a thread about a single part number. From the reading material, I believe that measuring tapes are built to a different standard depending on where you are from ;)

I think I'm going to start my own thread, about a spark plug perhaps.

just kidding (whisper) .... everyone enjoy your weekend and let all of the Corona that you catch come in 12 packs :) :)

heh... its not rocket science. Look at the chart, understand ride height and under load means, and voila..

I went with 5608's and it raised my Cast Iron 305 SBC with AC about an inch.. which is what I expected because the springs for more suited for a heavier engine (around 214 pounds heavier) being in it.. I was just being... optimistic... (305 SBC vs. Poncho 400 - I put the 6.6L 400 in it, the ride height should be dead on stock)

Besides, if it really bothered me, I would put a couple spring clamps on them to drop it about an inch in the mean time.

Still rides very well, even with the load adjusting shocks. Those load adjusting shocks just made the car sit level and not nose dive on braking or squat on launch. I must say it is weird driving a G-Body that doesn't do that.. add to it, the sway bars F and R.. the body really doesn't roll much either. Took a highway exit ramp at 45.. tires didnt even squeak. Handles really well.

Everything I read on the 5660’s is if you want a 2” drop you will need to cut 1/4 off the bottom of the coil. I have not done this yet but did install them in my cutlass before I started to disassemble my car. From my stock springs to these I saw about a 1” drop from my factory springs. I am going for the 2” so once I get the car back together I will cut the spring to bring it down. My cutlass has the 307 in it before, but now will have a 96 LT1 that should weight about the same as the 307. I also put the 5401 rear springs in

So the 5660 won’t raise it to stock. How are the 5401’s?
