I did 5662 springs first and then removed them and did 5660s. There was practically no difference from stock ride height. So, I cut them.
This is in the silver car...

So the umi doesn't drop it as far as advertised? Not trying to stir the pot just curious because I was looking in to buying a set of their springs.

Thing to remember is that the stated drop on most lowering springs is from OE ride height. If your originals are 40 years old and tired, they've probably sagged nearly that much

The stock springs being a lot taller isn't a concern. GM used low spring rate long springs from the factory which causes the cars to act boaty.

The 5660 and similar spring achieves a similar at ride height compared to the stock ones, and are shorter because they are higher rate. Basically, the 5660 style spring has the same stored engery at ride height but has more resistance to bouncing.
